Abstract:

Youth violence is the focus of much attention and has generated a great deal of concern in this country in the past 10 years. High rates of homicide among adolescents, particularly in inner-city communities; school shootings; and frequent reports of bullying have increased both professional and public interest in understanding what can be done to decrease youth violence, protect youth from becoming victims of violence, and enable schools and communities to shift efforts to promoting positive youth development (Tolan, 2001).
