Abstract:

The Challenging Horizons Program (CHP) is a school-based treatment program for middle school youth with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). CHP was created in 1999 as part of a process to develop effective psychosocial treatments for young adolescents with ADHD. The program has evolved over the years and is currently being evaluated in two different school-based models of careā€”an afterschool model and an integrated model. This article describes the development process and methods used to transition from the after-school model to a model integrated within the school program.
