Abstract: 

After years of recession and neglect, the homeless population in America is aging, creating a new problem in the need to shelter and care for those in this plight: the elderly homeless. The author examines the causes, challenges, and conditions that effect this growing population and stresses the need for services beyond mental health and substance abuse to go further into the complex problems of aging.
