Abstract: 

Reviews “Medical and Laboratory Indicators of Elder Abuse and Neglect” by Veronica M. LoFaso & Tony Rosen, in 30 Clinics in Geriatric Medicine, 713 (Nov. 2014), in which a geriatrician and a specialist in geriatric emergency medicine, both on the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College, synthesize the literature regarding medical and laboratory markers for elder abuse and neglect, and explain the necessity for health-care professionals to learn to identify, treat, and report elder abuse; also reviews “Prevention and Early Identification of Elder Abuse” by Jason Burnett, W. Andrew Achenbaum, & Kathleen Pace Murphy, in the same issue of Clinics in Geriatric Med.
