Abstract: 

This article examines changes implemented in nursing home care and evaluation including uniform electronic reporting system for nursing home staffing data, nationwide audits of the accuracy of reports of quality, the release of the stateby-state scorecard for nursing homes by Families for Better Care which showed that 90% of all nursing homes nationwide were cited for at least one state or federal law deficiency or violation, the advantages and disadvantages of video cameras in resident rooms, and recent trends in nursing home care law suits.
