Abstract: 

This issue’s Juvenile Corner department highlights two developments. In the first article, “$400,000 Settlement for New Jersey Juveniles” two teenage boys, Troy and O’Neill, both diagnosed with serious mental illness were subjected to extended, isolating and barbaric conditions by the New Jersey juvenile corrections system. In the second article, “Juvenile Justice Reforms,” the Campaign for Youth Justice report documents the continuation of four trends in justice reform efforts across the country and highlights the key pieces of legislation enacted between 2011 and 2013.
