Abstract:
A diabetic pretrail detainee dies in custody from lack of insulin and his sister subsequently filed a complaint in federal court against several jail officials; Williamson County; Health Professionals, Ltd.; Dr Chhabra; and RN Reynolds. A Connecticut prisoner brings an action against several prison doctors in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, alleging that he had been placed on a nutritionally inadequate liquid diet on two separate occasions, that it was unrelated to the declared purpose of deterring acts of self-injury, and that the diet was provided without medical supervision. A Pennsylvania inmate files a complaint in federal court alleging, among other things, that he had received inadequate medical care after he develops liver cancer. Keywords: Currie v.
