Abstract:

There’s no doubt that bullying and lack of encouragement happens across all professions, in all industries. But it’s especially troubling when it occurs among nurses. Why? Because a nurse is someone who supposedly has dedicated his or her life to caring for other people, with a holistic approach that considers a person’s physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. It’s only logical that nurses should do this not just for patients, but for colleagues as well. When nurses act as mentors to and share knowledge with other nurses, the patient benefits overall.
