Abstract: 

The Clinical Practice column in the January/February 2006 issue of VED discussed dynamics of self-neglect, including definitional issues, characteristics frequently displayed by self-neglecting individuals, and etiological and contributing factors. Responding to alleged self-neglect through case assessment and intervention is the focus of this column.
