Abstract:

As California has aptly demonstrated, neglecting the needs of individuals returning to society will only exacerbate the various social problems that lead to offensive behavior in the first place. Corcoran argues that the Supportive Living Program exemplifies a model the State should pursue to ensure that the formerly incarcerated can become self-reliant, responsible and successful in their communities. The author explains the Supportive Living Program and the problems that the program can help alleviate.
