Abstract: 

Is monitoring a quick fix to the complex problem of mass incarceration and excessive corrections spending or simply shifting the site of incarceration from a correctional facility to the home? The author, who has spent time as a probationer on supervised GPS monitoring, offers observations and points of concern that need to be considered to more effectively utilize the technology.
