Abstract: 

This issue of JCC emphasizes the work of practitioners in combating crime and reducing recidivism. The subject of public safety is clearly in the forefront for those working in the field of corrections. However, those involved with community corrections are not, as these articles testify, concerned with negative control efforts but, rather, with doing justice as well as doing what works.
