Abstract:

Community corrections are not concerned with negative control efforts but, rather, with doing justice as well as doing what works. It is important for those of us working in community corrections to realize how much the principles of effective intervention have been embraced. We cannot, however, become complacent, because acceptance of an evidence-based and principle-driven approach at the theoretical and sound-bite stage is not as important as the adoption and implementation at the worker and offender interface.
