Abstract:

This article seeks to introduce a novel tool for the evaluation of fidelity to the Level of Supervision Inventory-Revised (LSI-R), a broadly popular risk and need assessment instrument used throughout the field of community corrections. This article illustrates the current ongoing coaching and training challenges that contribute to LSI administration and fidelity issues and offers the Risk Assessment Fidelity Tool (RAFT) as a solution. The article discusses the LSI quality and fidelity literature, describes the RAFT’s development and mechanics, and provides a brief review of a case study of RAFT implementation in a Colorado community corrections facility.
