Abstract: 

Although community corrections research has come to China only recently, the government and foundations have shown a strong interest in the field. This article discusses the work of the College for Criminal Law Science (CCLS) of Beijing Normal University, which is the first and the only independent and comprehensive academic research institute specializing in criminal law science in China. The Center has conducted extensive and profound community corrections research in China and has carried out several community corrections research projects funded by the Chinese government, foundations, and foreign institutes. The Center has also published many monographs and articles in the field, which have widely influenced the academic world and society. Although community corrections research has come to China only recently, the government and foundations have shown a strong interest in the field. Since 2007, CCLS has undertaken nine significant projects on community corrections issues.
