Abstract:

The Boston Foundation, one of the nation's oldest and largest community foundations, with an endowment of almost $675 million announced on May 3 that it is raising its payout rate from 5% to 6%, thereby increasing by 20% the amount of money that is available for its discretionary grants (the funds for which nonprofit organizations in Greater Boston may apply). The change will make about $2 million more available for this purpose in the upcoming year.
