Treasury Inspector Projects $1.8 Billion in Bogus Property Contributions

Abstract:
An internal Treasury Department study suggests that donors making property contributions (even very large contributions that would seem to require care in planning) often fail to properly substantiate their contributions. How big a problem is this? According to the study, improperly substantiated contributions of property could have amounted to nearly $2 billion during the period in question.Keywords:
