Abstract:
Family members sometimes look the other way when the chairman of the family foundation’s board of directors asks for a volunteer to take the minutes of meetings. This is understandable, for the task of writing minutes is one of the less glamorous roles of foundation management. After all, recording decisions about grants, salaries, contracts, or insurance is hardly as exciting as making those decisions. Yet the foundation’s minutes are imported, both as a record of those deliberations and decisions and as a key to effective foundation management. Keywords:
