Abstract:

This article examines recent initiatives designed to enhance educational institutions’ response to and prevention of campus sexual assault (CSA). Author Christina Mancini describes new remedies that have been incorporated into many campuses to counter the prevalent problem of CSA. These interventions involve taking one or more of three critical steps: mandating accurate reporting, surveying students regarding topics related to CSA, and raising bystander awareness. The author goes on to report on the success and outcomes of each of these steps in lowering sexual assault rates at institutions of higher education (IHEs).
