Abstract: 

This article relates a unique approach for bringing about profound levels of healing and restoration for all of the parties affected by acts of sexual violence-- perpetrators and victims, family members, and close bystanders. Author Valerie CloudClearer Ringland, herself a survivor, describes her experiences utilizing the empathic dialogue, a restorative justice technique derived from the “talking circles” used by indigenous cultures.
