Abstract:
ADHD is the most prevalent psychological disorder in childhood and frequently persists into adulthood. Co-existing disorders are common and enhance the risk for persistency. Secondary to ADHD, increased demands related to school, family, and peers have been reported. Thus, the complexity of ADHD requires comprehensive, multimodal treatments. Combined treatments with pharmacotherapy and cognitive-behavioral interventions have been shown to improve psychological functioning. Prior conceptualizations have focused on behavioral and cognitive deficits in ADHD, but modules for improving emotional regulation have not been implemented. The authors of this study have designed an inpatient rehabilitation strategy that incorporated stress management and anger-control training. Keywords:
