Abstract: 

With almost 60,000 incidents of domestic abuse recorded by the police each year n Scotland, it is recognized that this is a critical area for effective law enforcement. This article looks at how The prosecution and police response in Scotland has radically changed in recent years and domestic abuse is now properly regarded as a top strategic priority, and the significant improvements made in how this type of criminality is tackled.
