Abstract:
This fall marks the 20th anniversary of both the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence (CDSV), and the Violence Against Women Act. The mission of the CDSV is to increase access to justice for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking by mobilizing the legal profession. The CDSV is using this year to reflect on its achievements, to recognize continuing challenges, and to set an agenda for the next 20 years that continues to advance its mission. To begin the year, the CDSV hosted a webinar on the ABA Standards of Practice for Lawyers Representing Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking in Civil Protection Order Cases (Standards or Standards of Practice). This article summarizes that program. Keywords: Standards Project; webinar available
