Abstract:
In this literature review, the author of the article discusses the textbook “Crime and Elder Abuse: An Integrated Perspective (2d. ed.), by Brian K. Payne, Ph.D. She asks that, when aspiring professionals in elder care are being reached, what are they being told, and Payne’s book is among the staples. She argues, with reservations, that they are being well-served by it. She does, however, mention supplementary works, notably Dr. Toshio Tatara’s seminal book, “Understanding Elder Abuse in Minority Populations”.Keywords: “gero-criminology approach”; Toshio Tatara, “Understanding Elder Abuse”
