Abstract:

There is no more dynamic or robust group of advocates than the elderly. One such organized group is the California Senior Leaders Program (CSLP). At it’s founding in 2002, the organization selected its first class of 34 Senior Leaders. New classes of approximately 30 have been designated every two years since then. Nominations are submitted by health departments, foundations, academia, community organizations, and local and state governments. The final selection is made by a statewide advisory committee. This article summarizes its outstanding work.
