Abstract: 

In an aging—and financially stressed—nation, where senior citizens held almost 43% of all wealth in the nation in 2011, it is understandable that large fortunes, and sometimes even small ones, will generate challenges. This article chronicles several lawsuits that challenged the legal capacity of Sumner Redstone to make financial decisions and massive implications for those hoping to benefit—in terms of wealth, power, or both—from Redstone’s extensive personal and professional fortunes.
