Abstract:

Many drug-addicted criminal offenders with co-occurring serious mental illnesses are not identified and, hence, do not receive treatment for their illnesses. This failure is in part due to the lack of adequate screening measures. In the present article, the author argues for the wide-spread utilization of proper screening tools, namely the K6 and K10 scales, which are described in the article.
