Abstract: 

This article is excerpted from the second chapter of Dr. Covington's new book and training manual, "Helping Women Recover" (Jossey-Bass, 1999). The article focuses primarily on the facilitator's role in the Helping Women Recover program. Topics covered include relevant aspects of subjects' relationships, sexuality, and spirituality that should be accounted for, as well as general guidelines for facilitating women's groups.
