Abstract: 

This article offers guidelines for managing a successful vocational and job placement program for offenders. These guidelines include the following: preparing prisoners for the work world before they leave prison, giving clear instructions to program clients, staying in touch with program participants, developing long-term relationships with employers, using a team approach, utilizing technology, properly training staff, and using volunteers.
