Abstract:
Outcome research on the effectiveness of both facility-based and community correctional programs for offenders confirms that preventing alcohol or other drug relapse is also a significant factor in preventing criminal recidivism. This article presents a brief synopsis of the theory and methods of preventing both relapse and recidivism from a cognitive-behavioral point of view.Keywords: relapse
