Connecticut Applies a Strengths-Based Approach for Prisoners Reentering Their Communities

Abstract:
A team of researchers, reentry programming practitioners, and policy analysts describe and investigate Connecticut’s implementation of “the Community Reentry Initiative, a state-level intervention that provided pre- and post-release services for men transitioning from prison to the community.” The article also examines the Fresh Start Prisoner Reentry Program, which is based on the Good Lives Model (GLM) for strengths-based reentry case management.
