Abstract:
In the long-running saga of Braggs v. Dunn, the latest federal judicial encounter with the Alabama state department of corrections came in the form of a 33-page order calling for, among other provisions, an outside monitor to evaluate the DOC’s mental health system. This article briefly reviews some of the key features of this oversight plan including one notable omission—a complete absence of input from or participation by the inmates themselves. Keywords: Braggs v.
