Abstract:

This case goes to the heart of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and its application within the not always hospitable walls of a prison system. When prison personnel seize an inmate\'s motorized wheelchair replacing it with a manual wheelchair and a cane the inmate testifies that he was then unable to access programs, services, and activities that other inmates routinely access.
