Abstract: 

Another blistering report on the horrors of solitary confinement. On the whole, Amnesty International finds conditions at Administrative Maximum (ADX) in Colorado unacceptably harsh, particularly the absence of meaningful social interaction over a period of years. There is a significant body of evidence that confining individuals in isolated conditions, even for relatively short periods of time, can cause serious psychological and sometimes physiological harm.
