Abstract:
While many high schools have integrated information about stimulants and depressants, among other drugs, into their core health education curricula, colleges have been slow to include such courses, opting instead to offer extracurricular workshops or counseling that cover these topics. We asked the Lewis Henry Morgan Institute at SUNY-IT to share its college curriculum on issues related to drug and alcohol use. The below curriculum is ideally suited to incoming college freshmen, but can be modified for both college and high school use. Keywords: Alcohol, Drugs, and College Life: A Cultural and Developmental Perspective
