Abstract:

Proprietary versus contract security has been the topic in many debates. The question of which one better suits the organization, or which provides the greatest savings, is routinely asked when businesses are making decisions on security services. Both types of service have a place in the business environment, and both methods of delivering security services have their advantages and disadvantages. In this article, the authors discuss why they believe proprietary security officers, rather than contract security, are better for a college/university environment.
