Abstract:

Recent statistics from the US Department of Justice (DOJ) indicate that a typical college campus with 10,000 female students can expect to experience more than 350 rapes a year. (B.S. Fisher, F.T. Cullen, and M.G. Turner, The Sexual Victimization of College Women,US Dep’t of Just. NCJ 182369 (2000).) Given the prevalence of sexual assault on campuses, it is vital that colleges and universities implement effective support and crisis intervention services for victims of campus rape, as well as appropriate disciplinary, counseling, and tertiary prevention programs for perpetrators. This article de scribes a program designed to address the former.
