Abstract:

This is a continuation of an article discussing the effectiveness of the Clery Act and responses to it. In the first part (CS&SD, Vol.5, No. 2, Nov./Dec. 2003), the authors addressed the literature and articles on the Clery Act from its inception, some of the problems identified in compliance, interactions with relevant laws such as FERPA, and anecdotal criticism of the law. In this part, the article concludes with detailed analysis of the status of campus crime today and how the Clery Act has affected perceptions and behavior of students on our campuses.
