Abstract:

The Sixth Circuit looks at the denial of a surgical consultation to address severe, recurring breast pain resulting from silicon injections received before incarceration by an inmate with Gender Identity Disorder. A female inmate alleges that the strip search conducted by a Corrections Officer was “undertaken to harass or humiliate” and served no legitimate penological purpose.
