Abstract: 

Pretrial Detainees’ Opportunity for Exercise and the Right of Equal Access for Disabled Detainees. Pierce v. County of Orange , 519 F.3d 985 (9 th Cir. 2008), arose out of a class-action suit fi lled by a group of pretrial detainees who were held in the Orange County, Ca., jail facilities. Informed Consent for Medications With Devastating Side Effects When Charles Christman, a classified sexually violent predator, was involuntarily committed to Atascadero State Hospital in California, he was started on a course of treatment with Lupron.The medication is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) used to reduce the amount of testosterone or estrogen in the body.
