Abstract: 

Line staff are in a crucial position to influence offender behavior for several important reasons: time with clients than correctional professionals who have higher degrees; line staff are often in a position to reinforce the principles of effective practice; line staff often have the opportunity to build relationships with offenders on a more personal level.
