Abstract:
As family foundations work strategically to focus grants on specific outcomes and grant accountability, the grant agreement assumes an increasingly important role. Without clear written directive on use of the funds, the foundation may miss an opportunity to tie grant use to outcomes, may have difficulty exhibiting and forcing accountability, and may have little recourse to enforce directives when charitable recipients choose to use the funds for other purposes. Keywords:
