Abstract:
Registration and community notification laws are constantly evolving. Civic Research Institute publishes a compilation of state and federal laws related to registration and notification, which is updated every 18 to 24 months. This compilation, Registration and Community Notification: A “Megan’s Law” Sourcebook, contains the laws, guidelines, and case law related to Megan’s Law federally and in every state. (To order, visit http://www.CivicResearchInstitute. com/co15b.html.) The purpose of the book is to keep academics and practitioners up-to-date with regulations as well as case decisions that relate to constitutional issues and regulatory guidelines. Because the courts assess cases so regularly, however, we have decided to create a column in SLR that highlights case law as it happens. This edition of SLR contains recent cases related to residency restrictions and failure to register. Keywords:
