Abstract:
Being found liable under an anti-discrimination statute can be extremely damaging to a financial institution, both financially and in terms of reputation. Financial institutions as employers should adopt and comply with strict procedures for hiring and terminating employees. These procedures should include a requirement of documented conduct or performance occurrences that precipitated the action by the employer. Keywords: Title VII Civil Rights; Americans with Disabilities Act; Family and Medical Leave Act
