Abstract: 

Although states are becoming increasingly sophisticated in countering allocation strategies of large enterprises, a number of planning opportunities are still available. Choosing where a corporation locates its treasury functions (including the function investing cash sweeps), or where it locates special purpose subsidiaries (which might hold intangible assets) may provide considerable tax benefits.
