Abstract:

Oregon Seniors and People With Disabilities developed a training program on how to prevent, recognize, and report fraud and abuse for formal and informal in-home caregivers and adult foster home staff. The training program is entitled, “Helping Caregivers Fight Fraud and Abuse.” The funding for the trainings came from the Administration on Aging (AoA) grant program, Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP). The major purpose of the SMP is to enable the public and people with Medicare or Medicaid to recognize and report possible Medicare/Medicaid fraud, waste, and errors.
