Abstract:
One of the most eye-opening lessons learned in the domestic violence field has been that victims can be found in every area of the community—including the elderly and those with disabilities. In this first-person account the author, the director of the Albemarle Hopeline, reports having learned much about domestic violence in 25 years of serving families, and that the organization has spent time and money educating the public that domestic violence is not a product of race, economics, or education. Keywords: expanding accommodations
