Abstract:
This research review summarizes the major findings and conclusions of recent publications. In reviewing the webcast, ” Overprescribed: The Human and Taxpayers’ Costs of Antipsychotics in Nursing Homes”, the hearings of the United States Senate, Special Committee on Aging, Nov. 30, 2011, the author calls it “must watch” viewing for anyone concerned with chemical restraint of elders with dementia. Also discussed in this article is the report, ” Medicare Atypical Antipsychotic Drug Claims for Elderly Nursing Home Residents”, by Daniel R.
