Abstract: 

Caseload size has long been a concern of community corrections officials and researchers with regard to effective management of offenders in the community and the potential for “lowering recidivism,” but seldom have researchers reversed the question and asked how being supervised by a large number of officers affects probation outcomes for the offender. This present study adds to the literature by empirically evaluating the effect of being switched multiple times to different probation officers during the term of supervision.
