Abstract: 

What is dual loyalty in corrections? Is it a split in loyalty between the patient and those who represent administration and security? Can efforts made in service of the security mission coexist with work done on behalf of the individual patient? A study conducted by the New York City DOC by its Correctional Health Services reviews three sources of data to conduct a formal assessment of dual loyalty.
